Host Sonia Mansfield and her podcasting sister from another mister Margo D. from Book vs. Movie, The Best Neighbors Podcast, Not Fade Away and Fit Bottom Girls review "A Star Is Born," starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
This is the fourth remake of this story, so Sonia and Margo are off the deep end, listen as they dive in ... they're far from the shallow now. They talk about all the "A Star Is Born" films, including the 1937 version with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, the 1954 film starring Judy Garland and sad James Mason, and - of course - the 1976 movie with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

SHOW RUNDOWN:
We have two special guests. One is an accomplished nerd author, award-winning filmmaker and leading dork thinker. He is Mark A. Altman, author, along with Edward Gross, of the fantastic new book, So Say We All: The Complete, Uncensored, Unauthorized Oral History of Battlestar Galactica. The other guest is my occasional co-host Chris Smith whose accomplishments are a mystery.
We talk a bit about Mark’s Battlestar Galactica book… We plan to have Ed Gross on soon to dive deep… but also to tease the duo’s next book which may or may not be an oral history of the James Bond series. That brings us to the subject of tonight’s discussion… James Bond and specifically 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me.
Mark is also the host of the fantastic new nerd podcast the 4:30 Movie, which dives deep into all kinds of movie culture. We’ll talk about that too.
