In this week’s episode we review the latest installment in the DC Universe, SUICIDE SQUAD. Is it better than BATMAN V SUPERMAN. What’s more, is it good enough to help sustain the DC Universe, or will it go the way of Sony’s THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN connected, then cancelled, universe. Well, we’re going to talk about that. Plus, are movies dying? Is TV surpassing movies in terms of the best kind of storytelling? And is that… just fine? Chris has some thoughts about that. Plus, the Olympics started on Friday. Did the opening ceremony know the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat? Plus our favorite headlines of the week.

Topic 1: Review, Suicide Squad and the state of the DCU

We review SUICIDE SQUAD

What's the status of DC's attempt at cinematic world building?

Topic 2: Are we seeing the end of movies? (No, but the most interesting stories no longer live in movies, but long-form TV shows. So there...)

Is the best place for adult, cinematic-style storytelling now on TV? We discuss from a blogpost from our very own Chris Smith
